Acura is embarking on its journey towards an electric future by resurrecting a former name-ZDX. Unlike the original 2010 ZDX, which debuted with a fuel engine and was avant-garde with a slip-back shape, the new 2024 ZDX SUV adopts a more traditional hatchback SUV shape. However, the design of the new ZDX is still quite interesting: a floating roof, smooth body sides, and a fake air intake grille with a glowing bezel. The ZDX is the product of a cooperation between Acura's parent company Honda and General Motors and will be equipped with GM's Ultium batteries. Previous reports stated that the Acura will be produced co-line with the Cadillac Lyriq SUV at General Motors 'assembly plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee, and will share the latter's electric powertrain. The basic style A-Spec model comes standard with a 358-horsepower rear motor, but a second motor can be optional for four-wheel drive and 490-horsepower. The single-motor version of the ZDX A-Spec has an estimated range of 313 miles; with the addition of a second motor, the range is reduced to 304 miles. In addition, a 499-horsepower four-wheel drive version is available with the highly regarded Type S badge, equipped with a more sporty suspension adjustment, adaptive shock absorbers and larger Brembo brake calipers. However, after selecting the performance version, the single-charge range is estimated to drop to 278 miles.
