Before the production is discontinued in 2023, the Audi R8 has always been known as the "gentleman's mid-engine supercar." It abandons the common flamboyant style of such models and presents a more restrained and more suitable for daily driving, while still retaining the berserk performance and blood-sucking engine roar of an Italian thoroughbred sports car. There are rumors that the R8 is expected to return in 2027 and continue a similar experience. The new R8 will continue to follow the past practice-borrowing Lamborghini's chassis architecture, and is expected to be equipped with Temerario's four-wheel drive plug-in hybrid V8 powertrain, with an output power that may be close to 1000 horsepower. Although the R8 will almost certainly focus more on smooth driving qualities and comfortable interiors than Lamborghini, its Italian heritage will most likely still shine brightly thanks to its mechanical bond with the hybrid beast of Sant 'Agata.
