The BMW M5, which debuted four decades ago, has become the pioneer of high-end sports cars-a segment now crowded with high-performance luxury four-door sedans. However, since the simulation era, the world has changed dramatically. The latest generation of M5 is equipped with a four-wheel drive plug-in hybrid V-8 system, using electricity and gasoline to stage a tire burn drama. The new car is full of numbers: 717 horsepower, a top speed of 190 miles per hour (about 306 kilometers), and a staggering curb weight of 5251 pounds (about 2382 kilograms). Although the new oil-electric hybrid system has significantly increased weight, the 25 miles (about 40 kilometers) of pure electric range calculated by the EPA has not slowed down its balanced chassis, excellent corner grip and world-conquering performance.
