Hyundai isn't known for big, burly adventure rigs, but the brand is leaning into ruggedness big time with the new Boulder mid-size SUV. Clearly positioned to compete with models like the Ford Bronco and Toyota 4Runner, the Boulder is said to have seriously capable body-on-frame underpinnings hiding beneath its boxy sheetmetal. Other off-road-friendly design elements include 37-inch all-terrain tires, roof-mounted safari windows, and a light bar perched above the windshield. While there's still a lot that we don’t know about the Boulder, it's clearly a vehicle that will be comfortable getting down and dirty on ORV trails. Whether it will look as radical as this in production is unknown, but the Boulder is nonetheless a good indication of what's coming.
