2026 Nissan Leaf: Late Bloomer

At first glance, it was still the "familiar" stranger

To be honest, when I first saw the official drawings of the 2026 Leaf, I almost thought that the Nissan designers were fishing. The front face is still the sign V-motion, but the light set has become sharper, and the side lines are finally no longer like a squashed mouse. The size? It is a circle larger than the old model, and its wheelbase has been increased by 5 centimeters. It finally has a sense of size like a "serious electric vehicle". But don't rush to praise-the slip-back shape at the back of the car still has a strange plump feeling from some angles, just like a teenager who has not yet developed puberty suddenly jumping around, and his clothes are a little too strong. Stand next to it and turn around, and you will think: Well, it's Leaf, but it seems that I went to the gym to get a New Year's Card.

Get in the car: belated "normal" interior

I can't help but want to complain about Old Leaf's antique central control and plastic steering wheel every time. It's been changed this time-dual 12.3-inch screens, just the right combination of physical buttons and virtual touch, and the steering wheel is finally not the kind of cheap material that hurts the hand. What surprised me the most was the seats: Nissan's ancestral zero-gravity seats were not absent, but the fillers were stronger and the long-distance support was much better. Back row space? It is still slightly smaller than the ID.3 of the same level, but the legroom can accommodate at least an adult of normal height. The back row that dogs used to dislike can finally sit on. However, I have to complain that the storage compartment in the central armrest box is designed like an intern, and the mobile phone and keys are all crowded together, making it as chaotic as my weekend desk.

Turn it on: The late electric soul?

The moment I stepped on the switch, I almost laughed out loud-the previous "simulated sound wave" noise of Leaf (although the official said it was a pedestrian warning) was finally optimized into a low current sound. Single-motor front drive, 218 horsepower, 330 N·m, the parameters are not considered explosive, but the acceleration of 0-60 miles takes only 6.5 seconds (a full 1.2 seconds faster than the old model). The surprise lies in the chassis: the previous feeling of swaying like a boat is gone. The initial section of the suspension is too hard, and the roll is beautifully controlled when cornering, but the rear section can absorb the shattering shock. The steering is too light, but the direction is clear and driving in the city is easy. But don't expect it to have any track fun, it's like a top student who suddenly dawns on-not a genius, but he finally passed.

Battery life and charging: belated "enough"

The EPA has a nominal battery life of 320 kilometers, but don't believe this number. I measured that you can run about 270 kilometers on high-speed and mixed urban roads. Compared with those opponents who often travel 500 kilometers, Leaf still seems petty. But here's a surprise: the charging speed is finally decent, supporting 130kW DC fast charging, and 10%-80% only takes 35 minutes-compared to the alarmingly slow Chademoo of the old model, it's a renaissance. Moreover, the new model has switched to the NACS interface (which is Tesla's), so the supercharging network is finally not "out of reach". However, the heat pump air conditioner is still optional, and the winter battery life may be 30% off. Nissan is still as stubborn as a stone.

Finally put a bomb: price

The starting selling price is equivalent to about 190,000 yuan, and the higher price is 220,000 yuan. At this price point, the Leaf you buy is no longer an ascetic who "puts up with everything for the sake of environmental protection", but a decent domestic electric car. But the question is, which one of BYD Dolphins, MG4, and Volkswagen ID.3 is cheaper than it? Leaf's biggest selling points are "Nissan's ancestral reliability" and "inconspicuous sense of security." It is not as radical as Tesla, nor does it stack up like China brands. It is like a veteran of the workplace who has been many years late, finally learned new skills, only to find that he is no longer young. So, if you are the kind of person who "doesn't want to trouble, just wants to be stable", 2026 Leaf may be your type. Otherwise, it will still be the late "bloomer"-the flowers do bloom, but the flowering period is already crowded with brighter competitors.
