2026 Porsche Cayenne EV: Kinetic Tour de Force

First sight: Is this product really a Porsche?

To be honest, when I first saw the 2026 Cayenne EV, I was stunned for a while-the low front, the front lip that was almost touching the ground, and the completely enclosed grille... God, it looks more like a squashed Panamera than the round Cayenne you remember. But don't worry, Porsche's ancestral headlights are still there, but the eyes have become more fierce, like a cheetah gathering strength. The lines on the side are so smooth that they almost melt the air, and the rear wheel arch expands exaggeratedly, as if to say: "I have dual motors stuffed inside. You can't afford to offend them."

The moment I stepped on the switch, I almost vomited my breakfast

Activate? non-existent. Put in D gear and gently tap the "switch"-okay, I admit I'm not ready at all. The initial acceleration of this Cayenne EV is completely crazy: the torque is instantly full, as if someone kicked you behind the seat, and then keeps kicking, and keeps kicking. Officials say "about 600 horsepower", but can you believe it? Anyway, I believed it because my cervical vertebra is still protesting. The strangest thing is that the whole process was as quiet as watching a silent film in a movie theater, with only the tires screaming crazily-the contrast was like running a marathon in silk pajamas.

Interior: The sense of technology is overwhelming, but I always feel that something is missing

When you get in the car, your first reaction is: screen! It's all screens! When the three large screens of the central control system (including the one exclusive to the co-pilot) light up, the entire cockpit looks like a starship. The materials are as advanced as ever-suede, carbon fiber, metal wire drawing, everywhere you touch it is like touching RMB. But... wait, where is the familiar physical knob? The "click" mechanical texture of the Cayenne in the past has been replaced by a bunch of touch buttons. Although the response speed is fast, it always feels like competing with the mobile phone when operated blindly. Porsche, please give me back the knob!

Open it? It's not like an SUV at all, it's more like a supercar

Don't be fooled by the label "SUV". The car's behavior in corners is simply anti-physical: the battery is pressed in the middle of the chassis, the center of gravity is ridiculously low, coupled with rear wheel steering and active anti-roll bars, and its cornering posture is as smooth as driving on a track. The steering wheel is extremely precise, and the road sense is clear enough to let you know the existence of every grain of sand. The air suspension can instantly switch between comfort and exercise-in comfort mode, the potholes on the road seem to be enchanted and turn into slight waves; in sports mode, the entire chassis is as hard as an iron plate, but the control feedback is also as direct as a scalpel. I just want to say: Porsche, are you using the chassis of Le Mans racing cars to fool the civilian market?

Charging anxiety? Non-existent (probably)

Officials claim that with the 800V architecture, the fast charging power can reach 350kW, and it only takes 18 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%-if this figure can be realized in real terms, it will really be very fragrant. As for the battery life, WLTP said it was more than 500 kilometers, but after actually driving hard all day + the air conditioner was fully opened, the meter showed that the battery life dropped by nearly one-third, and the actual run was less than 200 kilometers... Well, there is a discount. But think about it, who would use a 600-horsepower tram to travel long distances? It is more suitable for enjoying the bursting acceleration pleasure while commuting every day, and then slowly charging it in your garage.

Summary: It's not perfect, but it's enough to make the fuel Cayenne tremble

If you asked me whether the 2026 Cayenne EV is worth buying, I would say: Unless you are a diehard "voice first" faction, this car surpasses its fuel predecessors in almost every dimension. It's faster, smarter, and more technological, but it's also heavier, quieter, and less ritualistic. Porsche used this car to tell the world that electric vehicles are not a compromise, but evolution. However, on the way to evolution, it will occasionally leave behind some old souls-such as the click of mechanical knobs or the roar of exhaust valves. But so what? When you step on the switch deeply again and are pressed against the seat by the pure and barbaric torque, you will forgive it for everything.
