Tested: 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT63 S E Performance
Hybrid beast? This thing is crazy.
To be honest, when I first heard that AMG was going to plug a motor into the GT63, I refused in my heart-the V8 comes with batteries? Sounds like pouring whiskey and Red Bull together. But after actually driving it…Damn, this car is simply a psychopath wearing a suit! 4.0 The twin-turbo V8 plus the rear axle motor has a combined output of 831 horsepower and 1034 lb-ft of torque. The moment the switch was stepped on, I felt my soul nailed to the seat back. At the start, the motor was on top first, and then the V8 roared and exploded. The whole process was like a roller coaster and suddenly swooped after climbing a hill-ridiculous, but addictive.
Weight? Who cares!
Do you know how much this car weighs? More than 2.3 tons-not much lighter than a tank. However, AMG's genius adjustment of four-wheel drive + rear-wheel steering made it look like a cat with its butt burned on the track. The steering feel is so heavy that it can train arm strength, but the front of the car responds unreasonably quickly; torque vector distribution allows the tail to slide slightly when going out of a corner, and then the motor instantly adds up the power, and the whole car feels like it is being sucked through a corner by a magnet. The only side effect is braking... The first six piston calipers also have to work at full capacity, and the heat decay comes a little earlier than expected, but who cares about this when driving it daily? It is a serious matter to kill Tesla at a green light start.

Interior: Full of technology, but a little too many screens
When I got in the car, my first reaction was-did this central control screen learn from Tesla? A 12.3-inch instrument with an 11.9-inch touch screen, plus the pile of carbon fiber trim panels in the passenger seat... The sense of luxury is absolutely in place. The Nappa leather feels like a baby's skin, but the air conditioning buttons are all integrated into the screen. When driving, you have to look down to adjust the temperature. It's simply anti-human. The good news is that the seats are invincible and can weld people when driving fiercely; the bad news is the back row? Even a dog is too narrow. But will the person who buys this car care about the back seat? don't be silly.
Daily opening? Surprisingly comfortable
Don't be intimidated by track mode, switch to comfort mode and this GT63 S E Performance instantly becomes a docile big cat. The air suspension is excellent, the motor assists make the start smooth like silk, and the battery life is about 13 kilometers_enough for you to sneak out of the neighborhood without waking up the neighbors. But what surprised me the most was the fuel consumption…No, I didn't measure it. Talking about fuel consumption in this car is like asking a rocket how much fuel it needs for 100 kilometers. The point is: you spend more than $200,000 (estimated to be more expensive at home) to buy not only speed, but also a kind of "I'm willing to pay for absurdity" arrogance. Is it worth it? After driving it once, you will think that all other cars are boiled water.
