When purchasing an SUV, value, space and design style are important considerations, regardless of model class or price range. The 2025 Cadillac XT4 is up to standard in these aspects, but in the highly competitive small luxury SUV market, it lacks the delicacy and exquisiteness of those top models. Although its four-cylinder turbocharged engine is rich in power, it runs rough and is far less smooth than the hybrid or six-cylinder power systems provided by the best models in its class; the handling also lacks sporty and precision. Moreover, when driving on damaged roads, its ride quality is more bumpy than most competing products. However, the exterior design is remarkable, and the space of the five-seat double-row cockpit is also spacious among its class. Unfortunately, the interior materials lack the high-quality texture that luxury models should have. Its sitting posture is slightly higher than most models, helping to gain a broader front view. Although the XT4 does not have obvious fatal shortcomings, it lacks the delicate and comprehensive balance of the top options in this market segment such as the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA-class and the unique Volvo XC40.
