An SUV with the Corvette name may sound unusual, but it is said to be already in the works. A source inside GM told us that after years of hesitation, Chevrolet finally decided to follow the example of many sports car manufacturers and expand the legendary Corvette brand beyond two-seater models. While the company is building a new electric sub-brand centered on performance that will include an SUV and a four-door sedan, the first Corvette SUV is expected to be powered by a gasoline engine and is based on the same platform as the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing. That means it is possible to offer SUVs in two size-one compact and one medium-to better compete with rivals such as the Porsche Macan and Cayenne, as well as the BMW X3M and X5M.
