Although names like "The Judge", GTO, Trans Am and Firebird are highly regarded among car fans, the brands that built them long ago no longer exist. Pontiac became a division of General Motors in the early 1930s. By the 1960s and 1970s, it became famous for its performance cars-from yacht-sized road cruisers like Catalina and Grand Prix to muscle cars like GTO and Firebird. Over time, Pontiac also built unique models like the mid-engine Fiero and bizarre products like the Aztek SUV. At the end of its golden age, the brand tried to revitalize itself with performance cars, launching sincere and sporty models, such as the rare Solstice sports car and the hot G8 GXP sedan. Unfortunately, it did not work. After the Great Depression of 2008, General Motors decided to cut off the Pontiac division and keep only Buick-because there was only one brand in the company's product line between Chevrolet and Cadillac.
