Hybrid vehicles come in many forms, from cars, pickup trucks, SUVs, MPVs to even sports cars. Some models focus on fuel economy, while others use a combination of gasoline and electricity to significantly improve performance. Faced with so many hybrid models, it is not easy to distinguish which ones are just "okay" and which ones are truly "excellent". Because of this, we have conducted comprehensive and rigorous testing on almost all hybrid models.
The ranking of Car and Driver is derived from the large-scale instrument test data we conduct on hundreds of vehicle models every year, as well as the subjective feelings accumulated by the editorial team during actual road driving. We selected the best hybrid car based on approximately 200 data points, covering acceleration performance, handling, comfort, cargo space, fuel efficiency, cost performance and driving pleasure. We take rankings very seriously because we want you to have a comprehensive understanding of every model you are interested in.
