Hybrid vehicles can be seen everywhere today, in a wide variety, from cars, pickup trucks, SUVs, MPVs, and even sports cars. Some models focus on fuel economy, while others use a combination of gasoline and electricity to significantly improve performance. Faced with so many hybrid models, it is not easy to distinguish which are just "not bad" and which are "really excellent". Because of this, we have conducted comprehensive testing and evaluation of almost all hybrid models.
Car and Driver's rankings are based on the results of large-scale instrument testing of hundreds of vehicle models every year, as well as the subjective perceptions gained by editorial experts in real driving environments. We select the best hybrid model based on approximately 200 data points, covering acceleration performance, handling, comfort, cargo space, fuel efficiency, cost performance and driving pleasure. We take rankings very seriously because we want you to have a comprehensive understanding of every car you are interested in.
