Hybrid vehicles come in many forms, from cars to pickup trucks, SUVs, MPVs, and even sports cars. Some models focus on fuel efficiency, while others use a combination of gasoline and electricity to significantly improve performance. Faced with so many hybrid models, it is not easy to distinguish which are just "not bad" and which are "first-class". Because of this, we have conducted a comprehensive test and evaluation of almost every hybrid model.
Car and Driver's ranking is based on the results of a large number of instrument tests we conduct on hundreds of cars every year, as well as the subjective feelings of professional editors in real driving environments. We select the best hybrid model based on approximately 200 data points, covering aspects such as acceleration, handling, comfort, cargo space, fuel efficiency, cost performance and driving pleasure. We are very strict about rankings because we want you to have a comprehensive understanding of every car you care about.
