Hybrid vehicles come in many forms, ranging from cars, pickup trucks, SUVs, MPVs to sports cars. Some models focus on fuel economy, while others use a combination of gasoline and electricity to significantly improve performance. Faced with so many hybrid models on the market, it is not easy to distinguish which ones are just "pretty good" and which ones are truly outstanding. Because of this, we have conducted comprehensive testing and evaluation of almost all hybrid models.
The ranking of Car and Driver is derived from the large-scale instrument test data we conduct on hundreds of vehicle models every year, as well as the subjective feelings of professional editors in the real driving environment. We select the best hybrid car based on approximately 200 data points, covering acceleration, handling, comfort, trunk space, fuel efficiency, cost performance and driving pleasure. We take rankings very seriously because we want you to have a comprehensive understanding of every model you are interested in.
