Hybrid vehicles come in many forms, ranging from cars, pickup trucks, SUVs, MPVs to sports cars. Some models focus on fuel efficiency, while others use a combination of gasoline and electricity to significantly improve performance. Faced with so many hybrid models on the market, it is not easy to distinguish which ones are just "not bad" and which ones are truly "outstanding". Therefore, we have conducted comprehensive testing and evaluation of almost all hybrid models.
Car and Driver's rankings are based on our extensive instrument testing of hundreds of cars every year, as well as the subjective experiences gained by editorial experts while driving on real road conditions. We select the best hybrid car based on approximately 200 data points, covering aspects such as acceleration, handling, comfort, cargo space, fuel efficiency, cost performance and driving pleasure.
